ADULTERY & FORNICATION
Welcome back to the explanation of the works of the flesh. We previously reviewed the fleshy work of strife and today we will review the fleshy acts of adultery and fornication.
When a person is moral, there is a set of beliefs that govern their lives that is righteous. When you are immoral then your beliefs are not in right standing with God. Those beliefs in your life are anti-Christ or unrighteous. What are beliefs? These are the deeply rooted ideas that fuels one’s character and is in essence the sum total of the man’s heart.
What is the heart? The heart is the subconscious mind. It is the place that you innately react from because your thoughts have developed a stronghold and you operate from this mind set. A stronghold is your mind being set.
I want to explain “mind set” from this perspective. In mathematics, when you’re given a problem, they may give you a set or it can be called a mathematical set. From this set of variables, you can now answer a problem. So “mind set” is the way your brain responds and answers the issues of life. Your responses are now based out of the moral and immoral code that shape ultimately who you are.
When one enters into Adultery, then there is an immoral code that has infiltrated the mindset of a person.
1 Corinthians 6:18 – 18 Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body.
Now that we have defined what is immoral, we can now explain what sexual immorality is.
What is sexual immorality?
Sexual immorality is when the original intent for sex has been perverted. What was the original intent for sex? The original intent was to colonize earth. To make it a replica of heaven. So when God gave man the command to be fruitful and multiply in Genesis, that was the directive to colonize the earth. When sex now goes beyond the confines of God’s orginal intent it becomes perveted; meaning your thinking, “mind set”, is twisted as it pertains to the original intent of a thing. Now let’s look at this through the lens of 1 Corinthians 6:18.
Sexual Immorality in this text is the word proneia in the greek. It means fornication, whoredom, met:idolatry
This scripture is not specifically calling this act adultery but it is calling it fornication. So we can see here that the bible is referring to fornication as adultery. Let’s review this translation through Matthew 19:9.
9 And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.
So we can see the interchange and separation of fornication and adultery in the bible because they both involve illegal sexual activity which includes: sexual activity between a married person and an unmarried person, sexual activity between two married people not joined together, sexual activity between the unsaved or the saved, and sexual activity between two unmarried people.
If you or someone you know is having a problem with adultery or fornication the first step is to confess your sins. REPENT. You can never break a struggle or a stronghold (“mindset”) without first coming into a place of true repentance. This is Godly sorrow.
2 Corinthians 7:10 speaks of this:
10 For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.
You can’t remain in the same twisted thought pattern and think that you will ever come to a place of change. God is a rewarded of them that diligently seek Him. If you are truly sorrowful and want to change, he will meet you with the reward of deliverance.
So first let’s repent for this sin, give our life back to Christ and ask Him to break the tie of fornication and adultery between you and the other lover that you entered into the physical act with.
PRAYER OF REPENTANCE
Father God I come before you humbly, laying all fleshy works, fleshly character and mindsets on the altar. I confess before you oh mighty King the sin of fornication and/or adultery. I cry out to you in repentance because your word says if I cry out to you I will be healed. If I cry out to you I will be delivered. Thank you Lord that when I come before you humbly you hear my cry and you hear my prayer. You are not a God that cannot be touched by our infirmities. Lord, I lay every manner of iniquity on your altar. I repent for iniquity, habitual sin. I repent for all manner of sin in my life and I give my life back to you. Forgive me oh God. I choose this day to turn away from my wicked ways. I ask you to visit the iniquities of my forefathers. Cleanse me of all manner of unrighteousness. This is my moment and time for deliverance and freedom. I receive you as my savior and I recommit my life wholly to you! I want nothing to do with the sin I once desired. Take the very taste out of my soul, emotions and intellect and deliver from the memories that try to haunt me. Break every demonic chain and soul tie in Jesus name. I call my soul back from every person I slept with and ask you Holy Spirit to fill my life and fill my house to overflow. Break all guilt, shame and condemnation. Freedom come forth in my life in Jesus name. Lord take me from a place of flesh to a place of being submitted and spirit led. I ask and pray in Jesus’ name. Amen!
WALKING THE DELIVERANCE OUT
(1) Many times, once we repent, we receive deliverance and end up in the same predicament. Many cry out because of ponography, affairs, and all manner of sexual captivity without seeming to break the binds of this yolk. Deliverance is not a one day thing it is a constant work. You are constantly putting down of perverse activity until it is no longer has a hold in you mind. You have to walk this out daily. This is called posessing the gates of your soul. You have to see it from this place, for years you allowed a demonic spirit to talk to you, seduce you, and lure you into traps. You have learned sexual perversion and it has become apart of who you are because of agreement. Whether this is knowingly or unknowingly, you have to now transform your mind to handle this manner of perversion that you have renounced in a now holy manner. Falling doesn’t mean failure, falling means you are being transformed to no longer live in this manner of sin.
The bible says in Proverbs 4:26
For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.
Just because you fell into the sin again doesn’t mean you can’t be free, it means your mind has to be transformed. The objective is to get up, confess the sin and forge forward again.
(2) Sometimes when you don’t get to the root you still have the fruit. So the next prayer we will pray is this,
Lord reveal the strongman that has me bound in Jesus name, Amen.
Why is this important? This is important because many times we can’t even see the demon in operation because we are familiar with the sin. What do I mean? When it runs through the family and we don’t address the sin, our eyes become dim to it. We never confront it. We just say well that’s just so and so. This is an open door to deceit.
(3) Close the back door. When God delivers you, you have to be vigilant in prayer. Just make this your comfortable place because it will fortify your house. What is the back door? It is the door that gives the enemy access to your life again. Put an angel of God at the door to arrest every demonic work seeking reentry and forbid them access. Keep the word going so that your house is filled. Whether by reading the word or listening to it day and night. A house filled the enemy cannot occupy. Meaning, any opposition from the enemy, the word of God will rise up out of your transformed mind and abundance of your heart and be a shield against reentry.
